Get Over Yourself and Get Off Johnny Football

So I'm sick of people beating up Johnny Football.  We gave him a Heisman and decided that since he accepted it, he has to change who he is.  Can't be brash anymore Johnny, can't let your emotions get the best of you, can't party, can't trash talk, can't roll with celebs and go to pro basketball games.  Oh and, if someone throws some accusations out at you, we are going to automatically assume they are true and go forward as if they were.  Oh and if those accusations are investigated and found to be untrue by the proper authorities?  No matter, we will just rock right on acting like you are guilty as hell.  Oh and by "we" I mean mostly the media, but if the shoe fits, rock it.

Yep now that you have that Heisman, we need you to be a Golden Boy.  If you get on that football field and someone starts talking trash, you can in no way reciprocate, oh hell no, you have to take it on the chin.  We gave you a Heisman!  After all, you brought this all on yourself with all the damning things you have done.  Come on now Johnny, did you really think you could live the college kid dream after we gave you that Trophy?  Oh no, you did this to yourself son.  Partying, staying out late, missing appointments, what do you think you are, a college Kid?  What are you,  twenty?!  GET A GRIP SON! Change the essence of who you are and conform to these arbitrary standards these pundits have laid forth for you and do it now! 

On second thought, nah, just tell'm to get over how angry they are over their boring little lives and rock right on being you.  There are a lot of us who very much enjoy you, just being you Johnny.
